Beautiful Sperryville!
We celebrated our one year anniversary in the historic town of Sperryville, VA. It’s a tiny little town very close to Shenandoah National Park and the Inn at Little Washington, and we took advantage of both of those attractions. We went hiking on the Little Devil’s Stairs trail in Shenandoah on both Saturday and Sunday, and saw a bear on Saturday! Then we had dinner at the Inn at Little Washington — a very special treat for a special occasion.
We stayed at the Hopkins Ordinary and hope to return there again soon. It’s a beautiful B&B with charming hosts and two stories of huge, covered porches. Each room is impeccably clean and very tastefully decorated, without the kitsch that often comes with rooms at B&Bs. And each room has designated space on the porches, with rocking chairs and a table for the wine and cheese they’ll bring you. We spent a lot of time on the porches and have to say that was one of the best parts of the trip.
