Big Nick Returns

We had a great visit with nephew Nick about a month ago.  We were so busy having fun, though, that we forgot to bring our camera with us when we went out.  The highlights were:

  • A Capitals game — the Islanders won and Nick tested his vocal cords (and the patience of the Washington fans) following the lead of a fellow Islander fan and yelling “Let’s go Islanders” as we walked down the 4 flights of stairs to the street.
  • Going to a college class and then work with Uncle Frankie — Nick got a taste of what a real college English class looks like at 8 AM.
  • Visiting the Spy Museum — Nick and I did that while Frank worked that afternoon.
  • Mongolian BBQ — we were told that this might even rival Chinese food, the former Nick favorite.
  • A winner-takes-all game of Risk — although we quit before anyone won.
  • Weekday bowling at Lucky Strike in Chinatown — probably the fanciest bowling alley we had ever seen and pleasantly empty at 2 PM on a Friday.

We’re looking forward to his next visit — perhaps this summer!  A few pictures from his visit are here.
